Idli Upma
Idli upma will be a quick fix breakfast idea if you have leftover idlies from dinner. This can be made under 10 mins from start to finish and makes a tasty breakfast too.
Ingredients for Idli Upma
- Left Over Idli - 6
- Oil - 2 tsp
- Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
- Urad dal - 1 tsp
- Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi - a pinch
- Onion - 1 medium size chopped very finely
- Green Chillies - 2 chopped finely
- Curry leaves a sprig
- Turmeric Powder - ½ tsp
- Salt to taste
- Coriander leaves as needed chopped

How to Idli Upma
- Use your hands to crumble idli into small bits. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan, add in mustard seeds, urad dal and asafoetida. Let them crackle.
- Now add in onions, green chillies and curry leaves. Saute for couple of mins.
- Add salt and turmeric and mix well.
- Add in crumbled idli and mix well.
- Sprinkle over coriander leaves and mix well.
- Serve.
