Vazhakkai Roast Recipe / Raw Banana Roast Recipe

I always have some raw bananas in my fridge,because they come handy all the time. They taste so delicious when made into poriyal, fry or piratal.

This roast taste great with rasam rice, sambar rice or even plain curd rice..

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 15 mins
Serves : 4
Ingredients:
Raw Banana – 2
Salt to taste
Oil for pan frying

For Masala:
Coconut – 3 tblspn grated
Fennel Seeds / Sombu / Saunf – 1 tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi – 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala Powder – 1 tsp
Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Water little as needed
Method:
Take raw banana, peel em and slice them at a angle, so you end up with a long slices.
Boil water with salt in a sauce pan, once it reaches a boil, add in the banana and cook till the banana is tender. it will take around 3 to 4 mins. Drain it and allow it to cool down.
Take masala ingredients in a blender and make it into a fine paste.
Apply the masala all over the banana, and leave it to marinate for 10 mins.
Heat oil for pan frying. Add the marinated bananas in oil and fry till crispy on both sides. Drain and serve.

First take a raw banana
Peel the skin  off
Slice it a angle so you get maximum surface area
all sliced
Now take your other ingredients
Boil some water in a sauce pan
add some salt in the water
place the raw bananas in
cook them for few minutes, till it is tender, but not mushy
drain them and set aside to cool down
Now lets make the masala..Take coconut and fennel seeds in a blender
add in ginger garlic paste
add in salt, chilli powder and turmeric powder
add in cumin powder and garam masala powder
once everything is added in, add little water
make it into a smooth paste
now lets apply the paste all over the bananas
now the bananas are well coated
Heat some oil in a pan
place the bananas in oil and cook till golden on both sides
flip over and cook till crisp, add more oil if needed
DONE
Serve

    Really i thank you very much for this recipes.I have been searing for vazhakai varuval recipe for a long time once i ate in karikudi.i tried this recipe and its very close to that recipe…Thank u again and ur kid is sooo cute..God bless d keep posting
