Vepudu Guntur Chicken Curry Recipe – Guntur Chicken with step wise pictures.

Delicous and juicy chicken stir fry which is also called as chicken vepudu. This is super yummy and taste amazing with some rice and rasam.

This is a spicy chicken dish which taste fantastic. It is spicy and delicious. This taste amazing even with some pulao, biryani as well. You can even serve it with some roti or paratha too. But i enjoy it throughly with some rasam rice.

Vepudu Guntur Chicken Curry

Ingredients

FOR CHICKEN:

  • Chicken - 500 grams with bone
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 tblsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
  • Chilli Powder - 1 tblsp
  • Cumin powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon Juice - 3 tblsp
  • Oil for deep frying

FOR MASALA:

  • Oil - 2 tblsp
  • Onion - 1 large sliced
  • Curry Leaves a handful
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tblsp
  • Tomato - 2 chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
  • Chilli Powder - 1 tblsp
  • Cumin powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water - 1 cup

Instructions

  • Take chicken in a bowl, add all ingredients except oil and mix well.
  • Deep fry chicken till golden. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat little oil in a pan. Add in onion, curry leaves, ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  • Add tomatoes and mix well.
  • Add salt, spice powders, water and mix well.
  • Once the gravy is done. Add chicken and mix well.
  • Cover and cook till chicken is dry.
  • Serve.

Pictorial:

1)Take chicken in a bowl

2)Add in coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin and garam masala powder

3)Add salt

4)Add lemon juice or vinegar

5)add ginger garlic paste

6)Mix well

7)Fry chicken in hot oil till golden and cooked

8)Drain them

9)Heat oil in a pan. I used oil from the fried chicken pan

10)Add onions and curry leaves

11)Saute them for a min

12)Add in ginger garlic paste

13)Mix well

14)Add in chopped tomatoes

15)mix well

16)Add in spice powders

17)Mix well. Add some water

18)Mix well

19)Cook till oil separates

20)Add fried chicken

21)Mix well

22)Cover and cook for 15 mins

23)Done

24)Serve

    Hi Aarthi,I love Ur recipes nd Ur presentation. I’m from Guntur I would like to share something about Guntur chicken vepudu. It’s not required deep fry .u can fry it in 2 to 3 table spoon oil on low flame. It will give same taste .
