Methi Mathri
Holi festival is around the corner and i decided to share few recipes for you to make on that special occasion. Even though we don't celebrate holi, i would love to celebrate each and every occasion through food. You can check out my holi recipe collection here.
There are so many ways they make mathri, Today i am sharing you a methi version and it is really easy to make and it taste really crispy.
Ingredients for Methi Mathri
- All Purpose Flour / Maida - 1 cup
- Kasuri Methi Leaves / Dried Fenugreek Leaves - 1 tbsp
- Carom Seeds / Ajwain - ½ tsp
- Black Pepper - ½ teaspoon crushed coarsely
- Ghee / Clarified Butter - 3 tbsp
- Salt to taster
- Water as needed
How to make Methi Mathri
- Take all the ingredients except water in a bowl and rub with your fingers to incorporate ghee in the flour.
- Add water slowly and knead it to a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 15 mins.
- Now divide the dough into small balls and roll it out. Now flatten it out and make a indention in the center. Now use a fork to prick holes in the mathri.
- Heat oil for deep frying, drop mathri in hot oil and fry it in a medium heat oil till golden.
- Remove it and drain in some paper towel.
- Cool it down and store it in an air tight container.
