    Cucumber Pachadi Recipe with step by step pictures. This is a very common dish made with coconut and yogurt. This little sweet and sour curry will make a delicious accompaniment with rice.

    Cucumber Pachadi

    My mom makes this whenever she prepares a south indian thali menu. She does that during festivals. parties and functions. This is how her thali looks like. It includes Hot Rice, Avial, Banana Poriyal, Ladysfinger Kichadi, Inchi Pachadi, Cucumber Pachadi, Pumpkin Pachadi (Recipe Soon), Chilli Pachadi ,Mango Pickle, Sambar, Paruppu, Rasam, Thalicha More & Semiya Payasam.Looks like a complete menu right..This is how we enjoy our meals..This recipe is one of that menu. Hope you will like this and let me know how it turns out..

    Ingredients for Cucumber Pachadi Recipe (Vellarikka Pachadi Recipe)

    • Cucumber - 1 cup chopped into small pieces(You can grate it also)
    • Salt to taste
    • Water - ¾ cup
    • Yogurt / Curd - 2 tbsp

    For Grinding:

    • Coconut - ¼ cup
    • Green Chilli - 1
    • Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - ½ tsp

    For Tempering:

    • Oil - 1 tsp
    • Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - ½ tsp
    • Curry leaves - 5

    How to Make Cucumber Pachadi Recipe (Vellarikka Pachadi Recipe)

    1. Take grinding ingredients in a blender, add some water and make into a smooth paste. Set this aside till use.
    2. Now take cucumber in a kadai. Season this with salt.
    3. Cover with water and bring that to a boil. Simmer and cover the pot and cook till the cucumber is cooked.
    4. Now add in the ground masala and mix well. Bring that to a boil.
    5. Once it boils. switch off the flame. Now let it cool for 5 mins.
    6. Add curd and mix well.
    7. Now make tempering, by heating oil and crackling in mustard and curry leaves.
    8. Add this tempering over the pachadi and mix well.
    9. Serve with rice.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup Cucumber chopped into small pieces
    • Salt to taste
    • ¾ cup Water
    • 2 tbsp Yogurt
    • For Grinding:

    Cucumber Pachadi Recipe Step by Step

    Take grinding ingredients in a blender
    Add in water and make into a fine paste
    Take chopped cucumber in a kadai. Add water
    Season with salt
    Cover and cook
    Once the cucumber is cooked
    Add in the grated coconut masala
    Mix well
    Once it boils, switch off the flame
    Add thick curd
    Mix well
    Heat oil
    Crackle in mustard seeds
    Add in curry leaves
    Once it splatter
    Pour over the pachadi
    Mix again
    Serve
