    Pumpkin Pachadi Recipe

    Pumpkin Pachadi Recipe with step by step pictures. This Poosanikai Pachadi Recipe is a very common dish made with coconut and yogurt. This little sweet and sour curry will make a delicious accompaniment with rice.

    Pumpkin Pachadi Recipe

    Amma makes this often whenever she prepares a complete South Indian meal. Pachadi is a important dish in that meal. She makes pachadi with lots of veg, i have posted most of them here. You can check out all my pachadi recipes here.. This recipe is kind of different one, it has raw sour mangoes for tartness and the touch of sugar gives a lovely sweetness to this pachadi. So try this out and let me know how it turns out..

    Ingredients for Pumpkin Pachadi Recipe (poosanikai pachadi recipe)

    • Pumpkin - 2 cups finely chopped
    • Raw Sour Mangoes - 4 tablespoon chopped finely
    • Salt to taste
    • Sugar - 1 tsp
    • Water - 1 cup

    For Paste:

    • Coconut - ¾ cup
    • Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - 1 tsp
    • Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - ½ tsp
    • Green Chilli - 1
    • Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi - ½ tsp

    For Tempering:

    • Oil - 1 tbsp
    • Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp
    • Curry leaves - 1 sprig

    How to Make Pumpkin Pachadi Recipe (poosanikai pachadi recipe)

    1. Take grinding ingredients in a mixer. Add some water and make into a smooth paste.
    2. Take pumpkin and mango in a kadai. Add in water, salt and cook for 10 mins till the veggies is done.
    3. Now add in sugar, ground masala and mix well.
    4. Cook for 5 mins till is done. Remove it to a serving bowl.
    5. Heat oil, add in mustard seeds and curry leaves and let it sizzle for a min.
    6. Pour this over the pachadi and mix well.
    7. Serve.

    Ingredients

    • 4 tablespoon Raw Sour Mangoes chopped finely
    • Salt to taste
    • 1 teaspoon Sugar
    • 1 cup Water
    • For Paste:

    Pumpkin Pachadi Recipe Step by Step 

     

    Cut Pumpkin & Raw Mango like this
    Take coconut, chilli, mustard and cumin in a blender
    Make into a fine paste
    Take pumpkin and mango in a kadai
    Add some salt
    cover with some water
    cover and cook
    cook till it is done
    Add some sugar..I didn't add that much
    sugar, just a teaspoon would do
    Add the coconut masala
    sprinkle some turmeric
    mix well
    Let it simmer for few mins
    Remove it to a serving dish
    heat oil
    add mustard seeds
    add in curry leaves
    let it sizzle
    pour it over  the curry
    mix well
    serve
