Serves: 4
Ingredients:
Thick Yogurt / Curd – 1.5 cup
Gram Flour / Besan / Kadalai Mavu – 2.5 tblspn
Water – 1 to 2 cups
Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi – 1 tsp
Oil – 2 tblspn
Mustard Seeds / Kaduku – 1 tsp
Ginger – 1 tblspn finely chopped
Onion – 1 medium size chopped finely
Green Chilli – 2 to 3 slit
Salt to taste
Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Coriander Leaves a handful finely chopped
Sugar – 1/2 tsp or to taste
Method:
Take yogurt, gram flour, turmeric powder in a bowl and whisk well till smooth.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard and let it sizzle.
Add in ginger and saute for a min.
Add in onions, chillies and saute till golden.
Add in the besan mix and some water.
Keep whisking and bring it to a boil. Once it boils, cook on a high heat for 4 to 5 mins.
Now add in salt and mix well.
Take it off the heat and add in chilli powder and coriander leaves and little sugar. Mix well.
Serve with rice.

This recipe is very interesting…I usually boil the yogurt and besun flour first and then temper it…This is quick and simple…Also another point I must make, I learned to make this from my Mother-in-law. She usually cooked the besun and yogurt for a very long time, simmering for an hour or so….
