This omelette sandwich is great for breakfast, snacks or a light dinner. Serve it hot with ketchup, or mayonnaise for a tasty meal. Cut these egg omelette sandwiches into triangles, wrap them in foil and pack for your kids lunch or snack boxes.

My love for sandwiches and burgers never stop. I have a massive 35+ sandwich recipes in my blog.

This sandwich is my go to recipe when I have no veggies on hand, even though i added onions, tomatoes and capsicum in this. Sometime I make this simply with plain salt pepper omelette. You have to try my chicken sandwich.

I always have a jar of green chutney in fridge. So a little spread of that chutney will simply jazz up this sandwich. You can leave the green chutney and use tomato ketchup instead.

    Ingredients

    • Bread slices : You can use white bread, brown bread or any sandwich bread for this recipe. It makes the sandwich tasty and filling.
    • Spread : For the spread, I have used green chutney and tomato ketchup. It adds extra flavour and street style taste to the sandwich. You can use either store bought or homemade of your choice.
    • Butter : Butter used for toasting the sandwich and it makes the bread golden and crispy. It also adds rich flavour to the bread.
    • Cheese slice or grated cheese : Cheese makes the sandwich creamy, cheesy and delicious.
    • Eggs : Eggs are the main ingredient for making the omelette.
    • Vegetable : Along with eggs I have added onion, tomato and capsicum. Finely chop them so they cook quickly and evenly.
    • Green chilli : Green chilli adds a mild spicy flavour and adjusts the quantity depending on your spice level.
    • Salt & pepper : Salt and pepper are the essential seasoning used to enhance the flavour of the omelette.
    • Oil : Oil is used to cook the omelette fluffy and soft. Use any neutral flavoured cooking oil of your choice

    Step by Step Pictures

4)Add in coriander leaves and mix well.

11)Place a slice of cheese on top of egg.

12)Cover the omelette with other slice of bread.

13)Apply butter on both sides of the bread. Place it on sandwich maker or grill and cook until golden brown.

    14)Now the sandwich is cooked.

    15)Serve.

    Expert Tips

    • Cook the omelette on medium heat to avoid burning or overcooking the eggs.
    • You can also spread mayonnaise for extra flavour.
    • For a healthier version, swap with whole wheat or multigrain bread.
    • Press the sandwich slightly while toasting so everything sticks together well and becomes crispy outside.
    • Avoid storing these sandwiches as the bread may turn soggy.

    Storage and Serving

Egg omelette sandwiches taste best when served fresh and hot. Serve this sandwich hot with tomato ketchup, mayonnaise for the street style flavour. You can also pair it with tea, coffee or juice for a filling breakfast or evening snack.
