Fried Potato Pies Recipe

Fried Potato Pies Recipe with Step by Step Pictures.

Fried potato pies or aloo pies. These potato pies taste amazing and is easy to make. Potato pies is nothing but a fried potato parcel. This pie is not only easy to make but is super yummy.

If you have few potatoes on hand you can make this in no time at all.

Fried Potato Pies Recipe

Fried Potato Pies are nothing but a delicious snack which is made using potatoes. This makes a great tea time snack.

Ingredients

FOR DOUGH:

  • All Purpose Flour / Maida - 2 cups
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed
  • Oil - 1 tblsp

FOR FILLING:

  • Potato - 3 large boiled
  • Onion - 1 chopped
  • Green Chillies - 2
  • Coriander Leaves a handful
  • Salt to taste
  • Cumin powder - 1 tsp
  • Garlic - 4 cloves
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  • Take flour, salt, oil and mix well. Add water and knead to a soft dough. Cover and set aside for 1 hour.
  • Grind onion, chillies, coriander leaves and garlic to a coarse mix.
  • Take potatoes in a bowl and mash well. Add onion mix in along with salt and cumin powder. MIx well.
  • Take a small portion of dough. Flatten it and roll it out.
  • Spoon some filling in fold it over. Seal the edges.
  • Drop in hot oil and fry till golden on both sides.
  • Drain and serve.

6)Knead it well

7)Set aside for 30 mins

8)Take the other ingredients

9)Take it in a blender and Make a coarse paste

10)Boil some potatoes

11)Mash it gently

12)Add it in

13)Add in cumin powder

14)Add salt

15)Mix well

16)Take small portion of ball

17)Roll it out

18)Spoon some filling in

19)Fold over

20)Seal the edges

21)Now time to fry

22)Drop in hot oil

23)Fry till golden

24)Drain and set aside.
