This is my all time favorite chapati to make when i have no time on hand. Since it is so easy to make and it doesn’t need any sidedish except a pickle and raita. So no wonder it is my favorite. You can check out my chapati list here. And if you are looking for simple sidedishes, check out my pickle and raitas too.

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Resting Time : 30 mins
Serves : 2

Ingredients:

Wheat Flour / Atta – 2 cups
Dried Kasuri Methi Leaves – 1 tblspn
Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam – 1 tsp
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Pepper Powder – 1 tsp
Garam Masala Powder – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Curd – 1/2 cup
Water as needed
Oil – 1 tsp + more for frying

Method:

All all the ingredients in a bowl except oil, curd and water. Mix well with your hands.

Make a well in the center and add in curd and water. Mix well to make a soft dough. Drizzle some oil over it and knead once. Cover it and let it sit for 30 mins.

Now shape into equal balls. Roll it into chapati and toast on hot tawa by drizzling oil on both sides till cooked.

Remove and serve with raita or pickle.

Hey! Thankyou for sharing this recipe. I am on a chapathi diet, so this is a great way to spice up my diet:)
Anyway I was wondering whether I add buttermilk instead of curd and water, or just avoid curd in full? I am not supposed to intake curd in this diet..
