    Methi Matar Pulao Recipe

    Easy Methi Matar Pulao Recipe with step by step pictures. Methi peas pulao recipe which is easy to make and taste amazing. perfect recipe to put in kids lunch box too.

    How to Make Methi Matar Pulao Recipe

    • Soak kasuri methi leaves in water for 2 mins. Drain it and squeeze well. Set this aside for  a moment.
    • Heat oil and add in mustard and fennel seeds and allow it to crackle.
    •  Add in onions, green chilli and cook till translucent.
    • Add in chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder and mix well.
    • Now add in tomatoes, capsicum and mix well.Cook till it turns mushy.
    • Add in the drained kasuri methi leaves, peas and toss well.
    • Add in rice and toss well..Let it get heated through.
    • Squeeze some lemon juice and mix once.

    Ingredients

    • 3 cups Rice cooked
    • 1 Onion sliced thinly
    • 3 Tomato chopped finely
    • ½ Capsicum chopped
    • 2 Green Chilli
    • 2 cup Fenugreek Leaves (use 3 tbsp if using dry)
    • 1 cup Frozen Peas
    • 1 tsp Fennel Seeds
    • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
    • 1 tsp Chilli Powder
    • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
    • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
    • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
    • Salt to taste
    • 2 tbsp Oil
    • Lemon Juice-to taste

    Methi Matar Pulao Recipe Step by Step

     
    Take all your ingredients

     

    Take your leftover rice

     

    prepare all your veggies

     

    heat oil

     

    add mustard

     

    and fennel seeds

     

    add in onions and green chillies

     

    saute for few minutes

     

    add salt in

     

    and your spices

     

    more spices

     

    and mix well

     

    add tomatoes and capsicum

     

    mix well

     

    add in peas

     

    and kasuri methi leaves, if using fresh add more

     

    and mix well

     

    add a splash of water

     

    and mix well

     

    add rice

     

    and toss well

     

    squeeze some lemon juice

     

    and mix to combine

      What a great idea I am sure PJ will appreciate this.

      I never know what to do with left over rice, this sounds delicious but I only have ground Fenugreek, maybe it will still give it a bit of the flavour. Diane
