I had some moong sprouts in my fridge..I was thinking what to make with it. I am not a big of fan of eating it raw, i either make salads or some chaat. I have shared the kosambari which i made using this and pomegranate yesterday. Will soon share the chaat which i made.

Yesterday when i was thinking what to make with it, i decided to make a tikki using it. And instead of grinding the sprouts raw, i decided to cook it for couple of mins to get the raw taste from it and then make this tikki. And when i tasted, it tasted just like masala vadai.

Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you..

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 2 min per batch
Makes : 10 to 12 tikki

Ingredients:

Moong Sprouts – 2 cups (Recipe here)
Onion – 1 medium size chopped finely
Coriander Leaves – 1/2 cup chopped finely
Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Gram Flour / Kadalai mavu – 1/4 cup or more
Oil for pan frying

Method:

Take moong sprouts in a sauce pan and boil it for 2 mins. Now drain it and take it in a blender. Puree till it is smooth.

Take this mixture in a bowl, add in all ingredients except oil and knead to a smooth dough.

Take small portion, flatten it into a tikki.

Heat oil in a pan, add this and fry till golden on both sides.

Serve hot.
