I had some moong sprouts in my fridge..I was thinking what to make with it. I am not a big of fan of eating it raw, either make salads or some chaat. Have shared the kosambari which i made using this and pomegranate yesterday. Will soon share the chaat which i made.

    Ingredients for Moong Sprouts Tikki

    • Moong Sprouts - 2 cups (Recipe here)
    • Onion - 1 medium size chopped finely
    • Coriander Leaves - ½ cup chopped finely
    • Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
    • Salt to taste
    • Gram Flour / Kadalai mavu - ¼ cup or more
    • Oil for pan frying

Yesterday when i was thinking what to make with it, i decided to make a tikki using it. And instead of grinding the sprouts raw, decided to cook it for couple of mins to get the raw taste from it and then make this tikki. And when i tasted, it tasted just like masala vadai.

Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you..

How to Make Moong Sprouts Tikki

    1. Take moong sprouts in a sauce pan and boil it for 2 mins. Now drain it and take it in a blender. Puree till it is smooth.
    2. Now take this mixture in a bowl, add in all ingredients except oil and knead to a smooth dough.
    3. Take small portion, flatten it into a tikki.
    4. Heat oil in a pan, add this and fry till golden on both sides.
    5. Serve hot.
