Pallipalayam Chicken
This is an easy and delicious chicken dish made using just a handful of ingredients but it taste so good. Taste great with roti or rice too. It needs only onions and garlic. If you have shallots you can use that. I used regular onions in this.

About Pallipalayam Chicken
Erode style pallipalayam chicken fry is chicken cooked in sesame oil with lots of chillies, shallots, garlic and coconut. You can use normal broiler chicken or country chicken in making pallipalayam chicken.
Pallipalayam chicken doesn't have any spice powders added in them. The dish gets it colour from the dry red chillies which we use. At the end chopped coconut is added which gives nice taste to the dish. Pallipalayam chicken is slow roasted till it is crispy.

- Chicken
- Sesame Oil
- Shallots
- Garlic
- dry red chillies
- Ginger Garlic paste
- Onion crushed
- Curry leaves
- Green Chillies
- Turmeric powder
- Salt
- Coconut chopped

Step by Step Pictures
1)Heat gingelly oil in a pan. Add in dry red chillies which is broken into pieces along with a handful of curry leaves.

2)Add in peeled chopped garlic.

3)Add in green chilli. Saute for a minute.

4)Add in peeled and chopped shallot.

5)Add in ginger garlic paste.

6)Add in crushed onions and stir fry until fragrant.

7)Saute until fragrant.

8)Add in turmeric and salt.

9)Add in chopped chicken and stir fry with onions and spices. Cook this covered until chicken is cooked. Once chicken is cooked add in chopped coconut.

10)Toss well and let the chicken get colour.

Ingredients
- 500 grams Chicken
- ¼ cup Sesame Oil
- 20 no Shallots peeled & chopped
- 10 cloves Garlic peeled & chopped
- 10 no Dry red chillies
- 2 tablespoon Ginger Garlic paste
- 1 large Onion peeled & crushed
- a handful Curry leaves
- 2 no Green Chillies slit
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 2 teaspoon Salt
- ¼ cup Coconut chopped
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan. Add dry chillies, curry leaves, garlic and shallots. Saute for a min. Add in crushed onions, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, salt and mix well.
- Add in chicken and toss well with the masala. Cover and cook on low heat until chicken is cooked.
- Add in coconut, more curry leaves and toss on low to medium heat till the chicken is fried. Serve.
