    Pudalangai Pulikari Recipe - Snake Gourd Kuzhambu Recipe

    Its been a while since i posted any kuzhambu recipes. SO i made this yesterday and i am sharing it with you..I have posted so many kuzhambu recipes in my blog.

    This is a gravy which i made using snakegourd. This gravy has coconut in it and taste little tangy as well. It taste delicious with hot rice along with some side dishes like potatoes and cabbage..

    Preparation Time : 5 mins
    Cooking Time : 20 to 25 mins
    Serves: 4


    Ingredients:

    Snake Gourd / Pudalangai - 1 chopped
    Oil - 1 tblspn
    Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
    Urad dal - 1 tsp
    Dry Red Chilli - 2 broken into pieces
    Tamarind Pulp - 1 tblspn
    Coriander Powder - 1 tblspn
    Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
    Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
    Coconut - 1 cup grated
    Salt to taste
    Water as needed

    Method:

    Grind coconut in a blender and puree till smooth.

    Heat oil in a pan, add in mustard, urad dal, dry red chilli and let it sizzle.

    Add in snake gourd and saute well. Add salt and water and cook till the veggies is done.

    Now when the veggies are half done, add in spice powders and mix well. Cook for 5 mins or so.

    Add in tamarind and mix well. Cook for 2 more mins.

    Add in coconut and mix well. Simmer for 5 mins.

    Serve with rice.
