Seasoned Onion Rice – Leftover Rice / Lunch Box Ideas

Every one is searching for ways to use leftover rice or recipes to put in lunch box for kids. If you want a simple seasoned rice which can be made less than 10 mins then who will say no to this..

This rice gets it complete flavor from onions and the whole spices which you add here..You don’t need any sidedishes to have with this. It’s a aadvantage right..

So here you go to the step by step recipe with pictures..HAPPY SUNDAY..


Ingredients:

Rice – 2 cups cooked
Onion – 2 sliced
Green Chillies – 2 cut length wise
Garlic – 4 cloves sliced
Curry leaves – 1 spring
Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam -1 tsp
Mustard Seeds / Kaduku – 1tsp
Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi -1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil-1 tblspn
Lemon Juice  to taste


Method:

Heat oil in a wok or kadai.. Add mustard and cumin seeds in it and let it pop..

Add garlic and let it get fried. Now add curry leaves in it.

Throw in your green chillies along with onions and mix well.

Add turmeric  and salt and mix well. Let this cook for 5 mins until translucent and cooked.

Add the cooked rice in this and mix well. Stir everything for 5 mins so that it gets heated through.

Add lemon juice and give a final mix..

Serve hot or put in lunch box for kids..

Take all your ingredients
You also need some cooked rice..
slice your onions
heat oil in a kadai

now add slit green chillies
and saute for few seconds
add onions
and salt and turmeric
mix well
add in rice
and mix well
add lemon juice
and give a stir
Serve
YUMMY ONE
Perfect to put in lunch box

    This rice is one of the first things I learnt to make and my first choice to make when I have leftover rice from morning..

    I wanted to make a different kind of rice, so I made this today. Everyone thought it was "a little weird, but nice". It was very flavourful, but my husband still wanted to have some gravy with this, so he helped me whip up your 15-minute egg curry. So tasty!
