I stayed away from baking for a while, its been long time since i baked something, somehow i didn’t feel like doing it. But now i am back with a amazing baked recipe, YAY… I hope i will get back to baking mood again and post some more delicious goodness again..Did you guys missed my baking recipes?

When i get back to the baking spirit, what would i make other than delicious brownies. You all know i have a special love for brownies than anything else. I love trying a lot of them and i have done it too. you can check out all my brownies making days here..

Last week, i had a 4 year old little guest visiting our place, so what would i make for her other than a special brownies. This is indeed special because it has chocolate and oreo topping going over it which makes it even more tasty.

This brownies turned out so yummy, it was super soft and moist. But it has no eggs, no oil, no butter in it. But the texture is so good. I am so pleased with the result and every last bit is scraped from the bowl within a hour or two of making this..I hope you will try this super yummy brownies and let me know what you would like to see in my next baking attempt.

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Baking Time : 40 to 45 mins
Makes one 15 x 15 cm square pan

Ingredients:

All Purpose Flour / Maida – 3/4 cup / 90 grams
Dark Chocolate Chips – 3/4 cup / 110 grams
Baking Soda – 1/2 tsp
Water – 1/2 cup / 120 ml / 4 fluid ounces
Buttermilk – 1 cup / 240 ml / 8 fluid ounces
Cocoa – 1/2 cup / 55 grams
Sugar – 1/2 cup / 100 grams
Vanilla Essence – 1 tsp

For Topping:
Chocolate Chips – 1 cup  / 150 grams or as needed
Oreo Cookies as needed crushed

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180 degree C / 360 Degree F.

Take a heavy bottom pan or a steel bowl. Add chocolate chips in it and melt it using direct method or double boiler method.

Once the chocolate is melted. Add in sugar, vanilla, buttermilk and mix well.

Now add in flour, cocoa, baking soda and mix well.

Add in the water and give it a good mix.

Grease a 15 x 15 cm pan with butter or oil and dust it generously with flour.

Pour the batter into a prepared pan and bake it for 40 to 45 mins. Insert a toothpick in the center and check whether the tooth pick comes out clean. If it does, then the brownies are baked.

Now sprinkle the top of the brownies with chocolate chips and put it back into the oven for a couple of mins.

Now the chocolate must be melted. Spread the chocolate evenly over the top of the brownies using a spatula or butter knife.

Now crush some oreo and sprinkle them on top of the brownies.

Let them cool a bit. Now slice and enjoy.

Super yummy….I substitute maida with whole wheat flour and this makes the brownie more healthy and nutritious, without compromising on taste.

@Vidya Udayu can make it the day before and refrigerate. Remove it before few hours of serving, so it will get soft again

Hi Aarthi, I tried it and copied it to the dot. But batter came out to be very watery and it did not rise that well. Any idea what I must have done wrong?

    Thanks
    Puja
