    Vegetarian Hot Dog Recipe with step by step picture. This is made with Soya Chunks ,Tofu and Homemade Wheat Hot Dog Rolls.

    Vegetarian Hot Dog

    Making a veg hot dogs was always in my to do list and finally few weeks back i made it and it was a hit. I used soya chunks which is commonly called as a mock meat and tofu which is a healthy protein stuff for making this. More over i made this and stuffed it in my whole wheat hot dog rolls..

     
    By the look you can never identify that it is vegetarian, and the taste is so yummy too. 
     
     
    I made this for lunch and hubby and myself enjoyed it to the core..

    Ingredients for Vegetarian Hot Dog

    • Soya Chunks / Meal Maker - 2 cups cooked
    • Tofu - 100 grams crumbled
    • Oil - 2 tsp + 2 tbsp for pan frying
    • Onions - 1 medium size chopped finely
    • Green Chilli - 1 chopped finely
    • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
    • Salt to taste
    • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
    • Coriander powder / Malli podi - 2 tsp
    • Cumin powder / Jeera podi - 1 tsp
    • Garam Masala Powder - 1.5 tsp
    • Tomato Ketchup - 2 tbsp
    • Carrots - 1 medium size grated
    • Capsicum / Bell Pepper - ½ chopped finely
    • Wheat Bread - 1 slice or use ½ cup breadcrumbs
    • Cornflour / Cornstarch - ½ cup or as needed
    For Hot Dogs:
    • Homemade Wheat Hot Dog Rolls - 5 to 6
    • Tomato Ketchup - as needed
    • Mustard Sauce (optional)
    • Onions, Tomatoes, Capsicum chopped finely

    How to make Vegetarian Hot Dog

    1. Take cooked soya chunks in a blender and make it into a mince. 
    2. Heat oil in a pan, saute onion and chillies with some salt till it is light golden.
    3. Add in ginger garlic paste and saute for a min.
    4. Add in all spices powders and give a toss.
    5. Add in carrots and capsicum. Saute for 2 mins.
    6. Now add in minced soya and mix well. Saute for 4 to 5 mins till the raw smell leaves from soya.
    7. Remove this to a bowl and let it cool down. Now crumble wheat bread and tofu. mix well with your hands.
    8. Now take a portion and roll it into sausage. Do this to the remaining as well.
    9. Now place this in fridge for 30 mins.
    10. Now roll this in cornflour and put it in a pan with very little oil. Fry this on medium heat till it is golden.
    11. Remove it and set aside.
    12. Now take your roll and slit open, place the sausage in and drizzle some ketchup over it. Top with onions, tomatoes and capsicum.
    13. Serve hot.

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups Soya Chunks cooked

    Vegetarian Hot Dog Recipe step by step pictures 

     
    Take all your ingredients
    Cook your soya chunks like this
    take it in a blender
    mince them..now this is your veg meat mince
    heat oil in a pan
    add in onions and chillies
    saute for a min
    sprinkle in some salt
    add in ginger garlic paste
    give a saute
    add in chilli, coriander, cumin and garam
    masala powder
    give a 30 sec toss
    add in grated carrots and chopped capsicum
    give a min toss to get the raw smell out of it
    now add in some ketchup
    mix well
    add in soya mince
    saute for 3 to 5 mins till you get the raw smell out of it
    remove it to a bowl and let it cool down
    crumble your tofu
    crumble a slice of wheat bread as well
    mix well using your hands so it binds together

     

    take a small portion of dough
    make it into sausage shape..you can make small
    cutlets as well..Now you have to chill this for
    atleast 30 mins
    Now roll this in cornflour
    pan fry it it very little oil
    keep rotating it and cook till it is golden..Thats it
    Now take your assembling ingredients
    first slit open your hot dog rolls..
    I used homemade wheat rolls
    place the fried veg sausage in
    spread some ketchup..you can use mustard if you like
    top with onions, tomatoes and capsicum
    enjoy hot..
