The first step in baklava making is to get the phyllo pastry. Sadly that is not available in my place. So i was looking for a perfect recipe to make that. Finally i got this recipe and it works like a charm. The key for perfect phyllo pastry is to roll it as thin as possible.

This pastry is a universal recipe, you can use that for making so many desert and even springrolls, i had few sheets leftover from this recipe and i made a delicious chilli cheese springrolls and it turned out wonderful..Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you..

Preparation Time : 35 to 40 mins

Makes : 32 Sheets

Ingredients:

All Purpose Flour / Maida - 1.5 cup / 180 grams + extra

Vinegar - 2 tsp
Oil - 1 tsp
Hot Water as needed

Method:

Take flour, oil, vinegar in a bowl. Mix well.

Pour in hot water and knead it to a firm dough. Divide it into 32 equal balls.

Take one ball and roll it out thinly. I rolled it roughly around 15 cm to fit my 15 cm baking pan. you can roll it to fit your baking pan.

Place it in a plate which is dusted heavily with flour between each sheets.

Cover the sheets with damp cloth and set aside.

Now use this for making baklava or spring rolls or anything.

Pictorial:
Take all your ingredients

take flour in a bowl

add in vinegar

Add in oil

Boil some water

Pour it in

knead it to a firm dough

like this

Now divide the dough into two equal portion, now take one portion of dough

divide it into two portion

roll one portion into a log

cut it into half

cut each half into 4

now everything is done..you totally need 32 portions

take one ball

roll it pretty thinly, you have to roll it as thin as possible

plate it in a plate which is dusted with flour

in the meantime you can check the dough size to your
pan size, in which you are going to make baklava

cover the rolled sheets with damp cloth or a wet paper towel

keep dusting the sheets with flour when you place
 each rolled sheets over

now everything is done

see how thin the sheets are..Now you can use this to make
baklava or springrolls or anything you like..
