    Coconut Waffles

    This is one of the easiest waffles you could ever make. All you need is few ingredients and this delicious waffles can be made in no time at all. Looking for healthy snack ideas for kids, then this is the option.

    The addition of coconut and cardamom in this recipe makes it super delicious. This eaffle is seriously addictive.

    Coconut Waffles

    HOW TO MAKE COCONUT WAFFLE

    1. Wet Ingredients: combine egg, sugar and milk till mixed.
    2. Dry Ingredients: mix wheat flour, baking powder and coconut into the dry ingredients and mix well.
    3. Make waffles: Heat waffle maker and pour in batter and cook till crispy.
    4. Serve: serve coconut waffles hot with jam, honey or maple syrup.

    FOR PERFECT WHOLE WHEAT COCONUT WAFFLES

    1. You can use plain flour instead of whole wheat flour.
    2. Adding rice flour makes the batter crispy.
    3. Using cast iron waffle maker instead of nonstick gives your crispy exterior.
    4. Add brown sugar instead of regular sugar.
    5. Coconut milk can be used instead of regular milk.
    6. Add desiccated coconut instead of fresh coconut for longer shelf life.
    7. Use butter instead of coconut oil if needed.

    SERVING SUGGESTIONS

    You can serve it with these following ingredients

    • Any Fruit Jam
    • Honey
    • Maple Syrup
    • Yogurt and Fruits

    Equipment

    • Waffle maker

    Ingredients

    • ½ cup Whole Wheat Flour
    • 2 tbsp Rice flour
    • 2 tbsp Coconut Oil
    • 1 Large Egg
    • 4 tbsp Sugar
    • ¼ cup Coconut
    • 1 cup Milk
    • ½ tsp Cardamom Powder
    • ½ tsp Baking Powder

    Instructions

    • Heat a waffle maker.
    • Mix egg, sugar, milk in a bowl till combined.
    • Add in wheat flour, rice flour, baking powder and mix well till combined.
    • Add cardamom powder and mix well. Make the batter little loose not too thick.
    • Once the waffle maker is hot, apply coconut oil all over it. Pour batter in. Cover and cook till crispy.
    • Serve hot.
