    Drumstick Fish Curry Recipe

This is the fish curry which my friends mom gave me and this is what i talked about in this fish masala powder post. This is one of the easiest fish curry recipe, because you just need the fish curry masala to make this, you can either make it at home or use store bought ones.

    About Meen Kuzhambu

Drumstick is also known as moringa. While the rest of the world has lauded moringa as a superfood, it has long been a staple of the South Indian diet. Moringa is also the botanical name (Moringa Oleifera) for drumstick, which gets its name from Murungai (Tamil) or Muringa (Spanish) (Malayalam). While it grows in most parts of India, it is
most likely more common in Southern India. It's also popular in Burma, Cambodia, and Thailand, where the drumstick is frequently cooked with seafood in curries. Drumstick trees are deeply rooted  in Southern Indian folklore and legends.

    Ingredients for Drumstick Fish Curry

    Drumstick :
The Drumsticks are tapered at each end. Moringa pods are bitter with a somewhat sweet taste; their muted flavor allows for a variety of seasoning options.

    Tamarind :
Tamarind flavour can range from sweet and sour to tangy and tart, depending on the other ingredients it is combined with. Sweet ingredients, such as sugar, can, for example, take the sting out of sour tamarind flavours. The sourer the taste, the less ripe the tamarind.

    Green Chilli  :
The green chillies in cooked or raw form give a fiery hot flavor. To reduce the fiery hot flavor the seeds and inner membranes could be removed which is effective at reducing the heat of the pod.

    Fish Drumstick Curry Preparation

    • Take tamarind in a bowl and cover with little water. Soak it for 10 mins. Squeeze it and strain it. Set aside.
    • Take grinding ingredients in a blender and puree till smooth. Set aside.
    • Take drumstick, water, curry leaves, salt, green chillies, ground masala and mix well. Bring it to a boil and simmer for 10 mins till the veg is done.
    • Now add in fish and cook covered on a low flame till the fish is done.
