    Tamarind Chutney Recipe (Imli chutney recipe)

    This is another basic chutney to have along side for chat items..This chutney taste fantastic as a spread for sandwich or as a dip for chips. It has a sweet and sour taste, hence it is perfect to drizzle on top of samosas, bhel puri and many more.

    Ingredients for Tamarind Chutney Recipe (Imli Chutney)

    Dates – 1 cup / 10-12 dates deseeded
    Tamarind Pulp – 4 tblspn or use a lemon size of fresh tamarind
    Jaggery – ½ cup grated
    Chilli Powder- 1 tsp
    Cumin Powder / Jeera Powder -1 tsp
    Salt to taste
    Water as needed

    How to Make Tamarind Chutney Recipe (Imli Chutney Recipe)

    • Take everything in a sauce pan and bring it to a boil.
    • Simmer this for about 15-20 mins until the dates are cooked.
    • Allow it to cool down and grind it in a blender to a smooth paste.
    • Pass this mixture through a sieve and press it with a fork to get as much pulp as possible.
    • Store this in an air tight container in the freezer for more than a month.
