    No Bake Cheerio Bars Recipe - Honey Nuts Cereal Bars

    This is a easy no bake bar recipe made with honey and almonds. I used honey loops to make this bar, you can use any toasted oats cereal or cheerios. This is great to make for your kids, great to have for breakfast with a cup of milk.

    Preparation Time : 5 mins
    Cooking Time : 5 mins
    Setting Time : 1 hour
    Makes: 16 bars


    Ingredients:

    Cheerios or Honey Loops - 3 cups
    Roasted Almonds - ½ cup chopped
    Unsalted Butter - 4 tblspn
    Brown Sugar -¼ cup
    Honey - ¼ cup
    Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp
    Salt - 1 tsp

    Method:

    Take cheerios and almonds in a bowl and mix well.

    In a sauce pan, take butter, brown sugar, honey, salt, vanilla and mix well. Put it on heat and bring to a boil, boil it for 1 min. Take it off the heat.

    Now add the cheerio mix in this and mix well.

    Pour this in a parchment lined pan and smooth the top.

    Now put this in fridge and let it set for 30 mins to 1 hour.

    Slice and serve.

    line a pan with parchment paper and grease it lightly with oil

    take butter in a pan

    add brown sugar

    add honey

    add a pinch of salt and some vanilla extract

    Bring it to a boil

    boil for 1 min

    take it off the heat and add in the cereal mix

    Mix gently

    Spoon into the pan

    spread the top so it is even

    chill for few hours

    unwrap it

    cut it into bars

    Serve

      I hv a doubt.I HV heard that honey when heated becomes toxic.if its true then can't we substitute honey with something else?
