    Nungu Payasam Recipe with step by step pictures. This is a delicious dessert made with Palm fruit which gives an excellent coolant effect.

    This has become one of my favourite desert. Not only it is easy to make, but it taste really really delicious and cools out body instantly. I can almost feel that my body gets cool when i drink this.

    Ingredients for Nungu Payasam

    • Milk - 1 liter
    • Sugar - ¾ cup or to taste
    • Nungu / Palm Fruit - around 3 cups
    • Condensed Milk - 3 tbsp (optional)
    • Cardamom Powder / Yelakai Podi - ½ tsp
    • Chironji / Charoli - 1 tbsp

    How to Make Nungu Payasam

    1. Take half of the nungu in a blender and puree. Chop the other half into small pieces.
    2. Take milk and sugar in a sauce pan and cook till it is reduced a little and thickened.
    3. Add in condensed milk and mix well.
    4. Chill this fridge till cold.
    5. Now add in pureed palm fruit and chopped ones along with cardamom powder and chironji.
    6. Mix well and serve cold.

    Ingredients

    • 1 liter Milk

    • ½ tsp Cardamom Powder / Yelakai Podi
    • 1 tbsp Chironji / Charoli

    Nungu Payasam Recipe Step by Step

    Take your palm fruit
    Take half of them in a blender
    puree smoothly

     

    chop the remaining into bite size pieces
    now lets make the milk mix..take milk in a sauce pan
    add sugar to it
    i transfered it to a bigger pan..you have
     to reduce the milk a little
    now it has reduced a little
    pour that in a jug or a bowl
    =
    add little condensed milk, it enhances the taste..
    You can skip it
    mix well and chill this in fridge till cold
    now it is cold
    add the pureed palm fruit
    mix well
    add in the chopped palm fruit
     
     
    add in some chironji / charoli seed, you can add 
    any nuts as you like
    add little cardamom powder
    mix well

     

    serve cold

      Looks delicious, but we dont get palm fruits in our place. What other fruits can we use to replace palm fruit with?
