Paneer Tikka Masala – Jain Style

Paneer Tikka Masala
Like I said before I love paneer and this recipe is a addition to that. This is a lovely ginger flavoured dish.Traditionally for paneer tikka the paneer pieces are cooked in oven and it has lot of procedure..But this is a easy way of making it..I simply sauted the paneer pieces in tawa with a little oil..I promise you,it doesn’t make any difference. This recipe is adopted from Manjula’s Kitchen, and it was so good…If you are making this dish in the morning, you marinate the paneer slices the day before and keep it in fridge…and you can make this within 30 min the next day.The cornstarch I added makes the gravy thick,so you can adjust the amount of water you add in it.I served this dish with Wheat Naan(Do check the recipe,it is so easy)..Please try this dish and let me know what you think…

Ingrediants:
Paneer-1 packet sliced thinly
For Tikka:
Curd-3 tblspn
Red chilli powder-1 tsp
Coriander powder-1 tsp
Ginger-1 tblspn minced
Salt to taste
Oil-1 tblspn
For Tikka Masala:
Tomato-3 large pureed
Cumin seeds-1 tblspn
Bay leaf-1
Cardamom-2
Red chilli powder-2 tsp
Coriander powder-1 tblspn
Turmeric powder-1 tsp
Garam masala powder-1 tsp
Corn flour-2 tsp
Salt to taste
Sugar-1 tsp
Coriander leaves for garnishing
Oil-1 tblspn
Method:
In a mixing bowl mix all the ingrediants given for marination together with the paneer and set it aside for 1 hour.
After 1 hour saute this in 1 tblspn of oil till golden brown on both sides.Remove this and set this aside.
In a kadai add 1 tblspn and crackle some cumin, cardamom, bay leaf for 30 sec.
Pour in the tomato puree and in with all the spice powder..Add in salt and sugar and mix well.
Cook this until oil separates from it.Add about half cup of water(This is as per your wish)..Add in cornstarch slurry(cornflour mixed with some water) and mix well.
Put in the grilled paneer tikka pieces and mix well.Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve hot with Naan,Pulav or anything.
Pictorial:
Ingrediants for paneer tikka

Mix well…
Fry that in oil
