Paula Deen’s Southern Fried Chicken Recipe / Hot Fried Chicken Recipe

I love love love fried chicken, i could say that i am totally addicted to it..My favorite is from a shop called bangs in my place, they make a awesome fried chicken which they sprinkle with a tangy lime pepper dry spice mix in the end which is lip smackingly good..I love it so much, that i can have it even daily, ahemI have shared so many variations of fried chicken recipes here, check them out..
I always wanted to imitate the southern fried chicken recipe, so when i searched online, i came across paula deen’s hot southern fried chicken which i totally loved. So i tried it immediately and it came out delicious. As usual i made few changes to it..So try this out and let me know how it turns out for you..
Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 15 to 20 mins
Serves : 3 to 4

Ingredients:
Chicken – 1/2 kg ( I used boneless)
Oil for Deep Frying

For Egg Coating:
Egg – 1
Red Chilli Paste – 2 tblspn ( 5 dry red chillies ground to a paste)
Salt to taste
Water – 1/4 cup

For Flour Coating:
All Purpose Flour / Maida – 1 cup
Salt to taste
Pepper – 1 tblspn
Oregano – 1 tsp

Method:
Mix all the egg mix separately and the flour mix separately. Set aside.
Take chicken and dip it in egg mix first then coat it in flour mix and set aside.
Heat oil for deep frying. Drop chicken in and fry till golden on both side.

Drain and serve.

Pictorial:
Break an egg

add some chilli paste

season with some salt

add a splash of water

beat well

take flour in a bowl

season with some salt

add in some pepper

add in some oregano

mix well

dip chicken in the spicy egg

dip well

coat in flour mix

coat it well

repeat with the remaining chicken

drop in hot oil

fry till golden

drain

serve

      This is a delicious recipe. Use an air fryer instead of deep frying.

    Hi Aarathy, lovely recipe.. Is oragano called Ajwan in hindi? Are they dried leaves or seed?

    hello mam…
    u are truly awesome
    i m 20 yrs old and studying in college
    we guys love to eat KFC chicken
    its like oxygen for our stomach …
    yesterday ….
    we ran out of money..and were…looking for .a miracle to happen ..
    we guys searched …internet and i was directed here….
    hence ….we..tried southern chicken recipe…of urs…
    and guess what??….
    A MIRACLE REALLY HAPPENED ….
    IT WAS THE KFC CHICKEN…..I MEAN 100000% THE SAME …NO DIFFERENECE/…
