Can normal salt and masala be substituted?

Hi
Happy New Year.
Post a comment yesterday but did not see it uploaded.
Wanted to find out whether can we substitute with normal salt and masala powder instead of those stated.
Thank you.

Interesting recipe. Will definitely try it as I love pineapples. But since pineapple is naturally sweet, my suggestion would be to omit sugar totally or use honey in case more sweetening is required. Helps cut down on sugar too, this being a diet recipe. ☺
