    I love my viewers, someday's i too get struck and break my head about what to do for next day breakfast. I was breaking my head one day, suddenly i received a mail from one of my viewer who, send me this recipe. Got happy, i took that recipe and modified it slightly to my taste and the next day i tried it and it turned out yummy.

    This biryani is so easy to make and is great for lunch box. It taste really delicious and so easy to make as well. It hardly takes 10 to 15 mins to put together..

    Ingredients for Semiya Briyani

    • Vermicelli / Semiya - 2 cup (roasted)
    • Oil - 3 tblspn
    • Bay Leaf - 1
    • Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - 1 tsp
    • Cinnamon / Pattai - 1 small stick
    • Fennel Seeds / Saunf / Sombu - 1 tsp
    • Onion - 1 medium size sliced thinly
    • Kal Paasi - 1
    • Mace - 1
    • Onion - 1 large sliced thinly
    • Green Chillies - 2 slit
    • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tblspn
    • Tomato - 1 sliced thinly
    • Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
    • Coriander Powder / Malli Podi - 1 tblspn
    • Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi - 1 tsp
    • Garam Masala Powder - 2 tsp
    • Carrot - 1 small chopped into small cubes
    • Beans - 6 chopped finely
    • Peas - ½ cup
    • Coriander Leaves - ¼ cup finely chopped
    • Mint Leaves - ¼ cup chopped finely
    • Coconut Milk - 2 cup
    • Water - 1 cup
    • Salt to taste

    How to make Semiya Biryani

    1. Take oil in a pan, add in add whole spices. Saute it for 30 sec.
    2. Add in onions, green chillies and saute till golden.
    3. Add in ginger garlic paste and salt. Saute for a min.
    4. tomatoes and cook till mushy.
    5. Sprinkle in spice powders and saute for 10 sec or so.
    6. Add in all the veggies and saute for 5 mins or so till the raw smell leaves away.
    7. Pour semiya and toss well in the masala. Add in coriander leaves and mint leaves and mix well.
    8. Add in water, coconut milk and salt. Bring it to boil. Simmer and cover the pan and cook it for 10 mins on low heat. Turn off the heat and fluff it lightly.. Now cover it and
    9. let it sit for 10 mins.. 
    10. Serve with raita.

    Ingredients

    • 2 cup roasted Vermicelli / Semiya
    • 3 tbsp Oil
    • 1 Bay Leaf
    • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam
    • 1 small stick Cinnamon / Pattai

    • 1 Kal Paasi
    • 1 Mace
    • 1 large sliced thinly Onion
    • 2 slit Green Chillies
    • 1 tblspn Ginger Garlic Paste
    • 1 sliced thinly Tomato
    • 1 tsp Chilli Powder
    • 1 tblspn Coriander Powder / Malli Podi
    • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi
    • 2 tsp Garam Masala Powder
    • 1 small chopped into small cubes Carrot
    • 6 chopped finely Beans
    • ½ cup Peas
    • ¼ cup finely chopped Coriander Leaves
    • ¼ cup chopped finely Mint Leaves
    • 2 cup Coconut Milk
    • 1 cup Water
    • Salt to taste

    Instructions

    let them sizzle for a min
    add in onions and chillies
    saute till golden
    add in ginger garlic paste
    cook for a min or so
    add in tomatoes
    cook that well
    add your favourite veggies
    mix well
    add salt and spice powders
    add coriander and mint leaves
    mix well
    add semiya..i used roasted
    add it in
    mix well
    add in coconut milk
    add in water
    mix well
    bring it to a boil
    cover and simmer
    now it is done
