All Purpose Flour / Maida – 1 1/2 cup / 180 grams
Sugar – 1 cup + 2 tblspn for topping / 200 grams + 2 tblspn
Unsalted Butter – 6 tblspn / 85 grams
Vanilla Essence – 1 tsp
Egg – 1
Milk – 1/2 cup / 120 ml
Baking Powder – 1 1/2 tsp
Salt – 1/2 tsp
Strawberries – around 2 cups or as needed
(My 1 cup measures 240 ml)
Preheat oven to 180 degree C. Grease a 9 inch round tin with oil and dust with flour. Set this aside.
Mix together flour, baking powder and salt and set aside.
Now take butter, vanilla and sugar in a bowl and use a beater to whip this up.
Now add in egg and whip again till fluffy.
Now add in half of the flour and fold gently. Add in milk and the remaining flour and fold gently. The batter will be thick.
Now spoon this batter in the baking pan and top with halved strawberries. Now sprinkle sugar on top and bake for 50 to 60 mins. Insert a toothpick to check whether the cake is done, If the toothpick comes out clean then the cake is done.
Now let the cake cool in the tin for 15 mins or so.Now slice and serve.

|Take flour in a bowl|
|add in baking powder and salt|
|in another bowl, take butter|
|whip it till creamy|
|add sugar and whip again till creamy|
|now it is fluffy|
|add in half the flour mix in|
|add half of the milk|
|add in remaining half of the flour mix in|
|fold again gently|
|now the batter is done|
|spoon the batter in the pan|
|spread evenly on top|
|now it is spread|
|take your strawberries|
|remove the top|
|slice in half|
|arrange it on top|
|sprinkle little sugar on top|
|now bake this for 50 to 60 mins|
|Slice and serve|
