    Tomato Pachadi Recipe with step by step pictures. Delicious pachadi made with tomatoes, coconut, yogurt and spices.

    Tomato Pachadi Recipe

    I have lots of pachadi recipes in my blog. You can see all those recipes in my side bar. This is another one to the lot. A sweet tangy dish which goes perfect with roti or hot rice and any spicy gravy. With no more introduction, off you go to the step by step recipe.

    Ingredients for Tomato Pachadi

    • 1 Onion sliced thinly
    • 5 Tomato chopped finely
    • 1 cup Greek Yogurt / Thick unsour Curd
    • to taste Salt
    • 1 tsp Sugar
    • 1 tbsp Oil

    For Grinding:

    • ½ cup Fresh Coconut
    • 1 Green Chilli

    For Tempering / Seasoning:

    • 1 tbsp Oil
    • 1 tsp Mustard seeds / Kaduku
    • 1 tsp Cumin seeds / Jeera
    • 1 Dry Red Chilli
    • 1 sprig Curry leaves 

    How to Make Tomato Pachadi

    1. Grind Coconut and green chilli to a fine paste by adding some water.
    2. Heat oil in a kadai and add in onions, fry this for 1 min.
    3. Now add in tomatoes and mix well. Cook this for 5 mins covered until the tomatoes turn mushy.
    4. Season with salt and sugar and mix well.
    5. Pour in the coconut paste and mix well. Cook this for 3 mins.
    6. Switch off the flame and let this cool a bit. Add curd and mix well.
    7. Now make seasoning. Heat oil and crackling mustard, cumin, red chilli and curry leaves. 
    8. Pour this over the pachadi and mix well.
    9. Serve hot with rice or roti.
