Yes i know i have become too lazy nowadays. Navaratri is around the corner and blog across the web is flooding with sundals and stuff like that. And i am here posting my first ever sundal recipe. How embarrasing is that. Ok but i have a cool news for you, i have 5 more sundal recipe ready to be posted for you. So keep a eye in this blog on the coming days.
Preparation Time : 8 hours
Cooking Time : 20 mins + 10 mins
Serves – 2 to 3
Dried White Peas / Vatana – 1 cup
Raw Mango – 1/2 cup chopped into tiny pieces
Coconut – 1/2 cup finely grated
Onion – 1 small finely chopped
Green Chilli – 1 finely chopped
Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil – 1 tsp
Mustard Seeds / Kaduku – 1 tsp
Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – 1 spring
Soak peas overnight or for 8 hours and add it to pressure cooker along with some salt. Cover with water and pressure cook it for 2 whistle. Let the steam go all by itself. Open the pressure cooker and drain them. Set aside till use.
Heat oil in a kadai. Add in the seasoning ingredients and saute for 30 sec.
Now add in onions, green chilli and give a quick toss.
Add in raw mango and mix once.
Add in the cooked peas, chilli powder, salt and mix well.
Once mixed add in coconut and mix once.

|Soak them over night|
|Drain them and add it to pressure cooker|
|Cover with water|
|add some salt and cook|
|Drain and set aside|
|now lets make the sundal|
|heat oil in a pan|
|add in mustard, urad dal and curry leaves|
|add in onions and green chilli and saute for 30 sec|
|Add in chopped mango|
|give a stir|
|add in cooked peas|
|a little salt and chilli powder|
|add in grated coconut|
