When I was thinking for a quick recipe using lentils, I remembered this one which I saw long back ago in tarla dalal cookbook..And I decided to do it..This is such a quick snack which you can make in no time.Actually in my style it is such a easy peasy recipe..

It calls for minimal ingrediants, but the taste is maximum..It has a crispy exterior and fluffy interior..You can have it with ketchup or any of the chat chutneys..You can check recipes of that here, here and here..

This is my DAY 5 recipe for BM which falls in the theme Seven days of Delicious Dals…. So hope you like it and I will be back tomorrow with a new recipe..

Ingredients:

Split Yellow Moong Dal / Pasi Paruppu– 250 gms / 1 cup / ¼ kg
Whole Coriander Seeds / Thania / Malli – 1 tblspn
Green Chilli – 2
Pepper – 1tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for Deep Frying

Method:

Wash Moong dal in several changes of water . Soak it in water for 2 hours. Drain it and add in a blender.

Grind it till it is half done. Now add green chillies, coriander seeds, pepper and salt and grind into a slight coarse paste. Transfer into a bowl.

Heat oil for deep frying and drop a spoonful of this mixture in oil and fry till golden.

Drain it in a paper towel.

Serve with ketchup of any of chat chutneys..

Pictorial:
Take all your ingrediants
Wash ur lentil well
add water and soak it for 2 hours
drain it and add in blender
make into a rough puree
add pepper
green chilli
coriander seeds
salt
and make into a slightly coarse puree
transfer to a bowl
now heat oil for deep frying
take a spoonful of batter
and drop in oil
fry till golden
drain it
Serve
with ketchup
Or any chat chutneys
YUMMY RIGHT
How easy is this..

    Dear Arthi
How are you? back in India , i am going through missed blogs. I love Mung dal fitters. The use of Dhania seed is a great idea, I must try it ASAP. Can I add 1 tbsp of rice flour? One of my southern foodie friends had advised to put a dash of rice flour in Medu Vada mix to make it surface crispy. Shall I add here too? I normally dont change original recipe in my 1st attempt and need your permission to do so..ha ha
    Have a nice weekend
