Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 25 to 30 mins
Makes : 20 to 25 Kozhukattai

Homemade Rice Flour - 1 cup (You can use store bought too)
Water - 2 cup
Fresh Coconut - 1/2 cup grated
Salt to taste

For Seasoning:
Oil - 2 tsp
Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp
Split Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu - 1 tblspn
Dry Red Chilli - 3 cut into small pieces
Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - a sprig

Heat oil in a pan, add in all the seasoning ingredients and saute for a min.

Add in water, salt and coconut. Bring it to a boil.

Once it boils, simmer and add in rice flour slowly and mix well so no lumps are formed.

Now keep this cooking till it leaves the sides and comes together.

Remove this mix to a bowl and let it cool so you can handle.

Once it is cool knead once so it is smooth.

Grease your hands slightly with some oil and take small portion from it and press slightly.

Now repeat the same with the remaining dough.

Place it in a steamer and steam it for 8 to 10 mins.

Remove it and allow it to cool slightly before serving.

Take all your ingredients

Heat some oil in a pan

add in all the seasoning ingredients

add in rice flour slowly and keep mixing

now it is all mixed without lumps

keep mixing till it comes together

remove it to a bowl, allow it to cool down

once it is easy to handle..Knead it so it forms a soft dough

take a small portion

press it like this,

so your finger impression in the kozhukattai

do this for the remaining dough

place this whole thing in a steamer

cover and steam

now the kozhukattai is cooked

remove and serve..
