Very Easy Marshmallow Fondant Recipe - 4 Ingredient Fondant Recipe

This is my latest favourite fondant recipe. It is made with marshmallows and icing sugar. Very easy to make and it is really easy to work with too..You can make this in a instant and don't need fancy ingredient to make this as well..Very basic and very simple..

Preparation Time : 30 mins
Makes : around 750 to 850 grams of fondant


Confectioners Sugar / Icing Sugar - 3 to 4 cups sifted

Marshmallows - 200 grams
Water - 1 tblspn
Oil - 2 tblspn


Take marshmallows in a sauce pan, add in water and melt it down on low heat till completely melted.

Take this in a big bowl, add 1 cup of icing sugar at a time and mix with a spatula..

Now keep on adding more icing sugar and mix well. Once it starts to come and no longer too sticky.

Add icing sugar and knead using your hands. Keep kneading till it is smooth and no longer sticky.

Add in little oil and rub all over the fondant. Cover with plastic wrap and put it in a air tight container.

Store at room temp for upto 10 days.


1)You have to keep it at room temp and not in fridge.
2)After few days, the fondant may get a little dry, add little more water, oil and icing sugar and give a good knead to make it soft again.
3)When working with fondant, cover the remaining unused fondant in plastic wrap and store in air tight container covered or it will dry up.
4)if you want to add colours to fondant, take a little fondant and add some colour and knead well. Add more icing sugar if needed.

Start by sifting icing sugar

set aside

Now take marshmallows in a sauce pan...i had only pink
 coloured so used that

add in little water

melt it gently

now it is completely melted

take it in a big bowl

add in icing sugar in it

Start mixing using a spatula

add more icing sugar

keep mixing..

add more

keep it has turned non sticky

now sprinkle little more

now start kneading with your hands

keep on adding icing sugar it it feels sticky

keep kneading

now it has started to come together..but still a little sticky

add spoonful of icing sugar and knead it

keep kneading..the entire process with take a good
 20 to 30 mins

add more sugar

knead it is non sticky

take some oil, butter or vegetable shortening

give a final knead

cover with several layers of plastic wrap

ta da

You can use it straight away or keep it in a air tight 
container for more than 10 days

  2. Hi aarti.. do we put the icing sugar to the melted marshmallow while its still hot? Or after it has cooled? Also about storing the fondant, it can be kept outside and not in the fridge, correct? Thanks a lot..

    1. u can put it while it is still hot itself. or cool a bit and use. U have to store it in room temp
