Lavang Latika Recipe - Easy Diwali Sweets Recipe

This is one dish, which you can never go wrong with..It is so easy to make and taste really yummy. It is pretty much like my suryakala or chandrakala..This sweet is not at all hard as you think, it is so easy to make. This stores well for a week in fridge as well. So you can enjoy it whenever you want.  You can use my 7 mins khoya recipe, so you can make this sweet from start to finish in under 1 hour.

Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you..

Ghee - 2 tblspn
Salt a pinch
Water as needed

For Filling:

Khoya / Mawa - 3/4 cup
Sugar - 2.5 tblspn
Nuts - 2 tblspn ( i used mixed nuts)
Cardamom Powder - 1/2 tsp

For Sugar Syrup:

Sugar - 1 cup
Water - 1/2 cup

For Homemade Khoya, Check out traditional version and instant version..

Take flour, salt and ghee in a bowl and rub it well till it resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Add water little by little and make a dough. Let the dough rest till you get everything ready.

Now mix all ingredients for filling. Now take your dough and divide it into equal portion. Now take each portion and roll it into a thin poori.

Spoon filling in the center and bring both sides together and cover with other side as well, so it resembles a parcel. Secure the top with a clove.

Now make the sugar syrup. Take sugar and water in a pan and heat it, bring it to a boil and simmer till it reaches ones string consistency.

Now heat oil for deep frying, drop the parcels in oil, fry on medium heat till it gets golden. Drain it and add it to the syrup.Toss well in the syrup and let it sit for 3 to 4 mins.
