Idli upma will be a quick fix breakfast idea if you have leftover idlies from dinner. This can be made under 10 mins from start to finish and makes a tasty breakfast too.
Idli Onion Fry

Cooking Time : 10 mins
Left Over Idli - 6
Oil - 2 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi - a pinch
Onion - 1 medium size chopped very finely
Green Chillies - 2 chopped finely
Curry leaves a sprig
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves as needed chopped
Use your hands to crumble idli into small bits. Set aside.
Heat oil in a pan, add in mustard seeds, urad dal and asafoetida. Let them crackle.
Now add in onions, green chillies and curry leaves. Saute for couple of mins.
Add salt and turmeric and mix well.
Add in crumbled idli and mix well.
Add coriander leaves and mix well.
