Pepper Brinjal Masala Recipe - Pepper Brinjal Recipe

Pepper brinjal masala is a perfect sidedish for rice, roti or anything. It is spicy and taste delicious.

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 30 mins
Serves: 4


Oil - 3 tblspn
Mustard Seeds / Kaduku- 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - 1 tsp
Onion - 1 large chopped finely
Green Chillies - 2 slit
Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
Tomatoes - 2 chopped finely
Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tblspn
Brinjal - 3 cubed
Water as needed
Salt to taste
Black Pepper Powder - 1 tsp or to taste


Heat oil in a kadai, add in mustard, cumin and let it sizzle.

Now add in onions, green chillies and mix well.

Add ginger garlic paste and turmeric powder and mix well.

Add tomatoes and cook till mushy.

Add in water and spice powders and mix well.

Add salt and mix well.

Add brinjal and cook covered till it is done.

Now add in pepper and toss well.


Prepare all veggies

Heat oil in a pan

add mustard

add cumin

add onions and chillies

toss well

add turmeric

add ginger garlic paste and mix well

add tomatoes

mix well

add salt

mix well..add in little water

add chilli powder and coriander powder

mix well and cook till raw smell leaves

add brinjal

toss well

add little water if needed

cover and cook

now it is done

add pepper

mix well
