    Carrot Kheer Recipe with step by step pictures. This carrot payasam recipe is an easy and delicious Indian dessert perfect for the summer. The grated carrots are sauted and cooked in milk till the kheer is thick and creamy.

    Carrot Kheer Recipe

    I love making kheer and payasam for desert , because they are so easy to make but delicious to eat. One of my latest favourite is this yummy carrot kheer. One day I was thinking to make some kind of desert for lunch.I found some carrots lying in the fridge.

    I thought carrot halwa taste heavenly, why not I try some carrot kheer. I tried it out immediately and was quite happy with the results. This is best had cold, even though it is good warm.

    Ingredients for Carrot Kheer Recipe (Carrot Payasam Recipe)

    • Carrot - 2 large grated
    • Sugar - ¾ cup or to taste
    • Condensed Milk / Milkmaid - ¼ cup
    • Cardamom / yelakai - 5 crushed
    • Milk- ½ liter
    • Ghee - 2 tbsp

    How to Make Carrot Kheer Recipe (Carrot Payasam Recipe)

    1. Heat ghee in a pan. Add carrot and saute for 5 mins.
    2. Add in cardamom, milk and mix well. bring this to a boil.
    3. Cover and simmer the pan for 15 mins till the carrot is cooked.
    4. Take most of the carrot mixture in a blender and make to a puree.
    5. Transfer this to the kadai and mix well.
    6. Add sugar and condensed milk and mix well. Simmer this for 5 mins.
    7. Serve this chilled or hot.

    heat some ghee

    add carrots in

    and saute well

    add in crushed cardamom

    and milk

    remove few ladles of carrot

      This sweet carrot dessert does intrigue. I do love carrot juice and smoothies but this is a new one. Also great that it can be served at either temperature. Delicious!
