If you are looking for a quick spicy crunchy snack to go with your cup of tea then this is it..It is a puffed rice snack and it is a bit spicy but has lots of crunchy elements on them like peanuts, garlic, curry leaves..You can add some roasted gram dal in this, i didn't have any so i skipped that..

Puffed Rice / Pori - 4 cups
Peanuts - 2 tblspn
Roasted Chana Dal / Pori Kadalai - 2 tblspn
Garlic - 5 cloves chopped
Curry leaves a handful
Dry Red Chillies - 2 broken into pieces
Salt to taste
Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi a pinch
Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi - ½ tsp
Chilli Powder - ½ tsp
Oil - 2 tsp
Method:
Heat oil in a kadai. Add in peanuts, garlic and fry till golden.
Add in curry leaves, dry red chillies and mix well.
Add in salt and spice powders, toss well.
Add in pori and give a quick toss.
Let it cool, store in a air tight container for a week.
Serve
Take all your ingredients |
heat oil in a pan |
add peanuts, you can add some roasted chana dal too |
roast till golden |
add in garlic (chopped) |
fry them |
cook till they get crispy |
add in broken chillies |
add in curry leaves |
mix well |
cook till everything is well roasted |
now add little asafoetida |
add turmeric, chilli powder and salt |
toss well |
add in puffed rice |
toss well..Turn off the heat and let it cool |
Serve |
Store this in a air tight container for a week |
