I wanted to make this recipe for a very long time. I wanted to make this tart using a proper cream cheese and was looking for cream cheese to make this, but sadly i couldn't get it anywhere in my place. When we visited goa and we went to a super market there and i was very excited to see cream cheese there, immediately i grabbed it and was thinking to make this as well as a few more recipes.
About this Recipe
A tart is a baked dish with a filling on top of a pastry base and an open top that is not covered with pastry. The pastry is usually shortcrust; the filling can be sweet or savoury, though modern tarts are usually fruit-based, with custard on the side. Tartlet refers to a miniature tart, such as egg tarts. There are no clear distinctions
between the categories of tart, flan, quiche and pie.
Where did cheese tarts originate?
These tarts originated in Hokkaido, Japan, to highlight the cheesy flavour of Hokkaido dairy. The tart shell has a buttery flavour, and the cheese filling is firm on the outside but gooey in the centre. These tarts are suitable for all ages and can be served warm, cold, or frozen.

Cream Cheese :
Cream cheese is a fresh, soft, smooth-tasting cheese made with cream or a milk-cream mixture. It has a mild, sweet flavour with a pleasant tang. It has a smooth texture, is spreadable (at room temperature), and can be used in both sweet and savoury dishes.
Digestive Biscuits :
It has a strong savoury aroma and a wholemeal flavour with a hint of sweetness, making it the ideal accompaniment to cheese or chutney. This biscuit has a lightly sweet flavour with subtle creamy, buttery notes; however, a richer wheat flavour would have provided a welcome balance.

No Bake Cream Cheese Tart Recipe
- For Crust:
- Digestive Biscuits or any biscuits - 15 i used milk bikis
- Unsalted Butter - 50 grams
- For Filling:
- Cream Cheese - 125 grams
- Confectioners Sugar / Icing Sugar - ¼ cup
- Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp
- Whipped Cream - ½ cup
- Take biscuits in a bowl, use your rolling pin to bash it so it gets into fine crumbs. Now add in melted butter and mix well. Spoon this into a tart pan or any pan and press against the edges and bottom so it is evenly lined.
- Now take, cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in a bowl and whisk well. Add in whipped cream and mix well.
- Spoon this into the crust and spread evenly.
- Chill for 3 to 6 hours.
- Now remove it and slice and serve.
