Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Red velvet baked goodies are getting more and more popular these days. I have already shared a red velvet cake and cupcake recipe in this blog. This one is a red velvet cookies which i baked few days back. I also made a red velvet crinkles which will be shared soon.

This cookies was a super duper hit, they were soft and very chocolaty. It was delicious. The chocolate chips added into the dough is so soft and molten, the chips which were pressed on top were gooey and gave a lovely presentation look.

The main thing you have to keep in mind is to chill the dough for atleast 1 hour before you bake, since it will help to make the cookies stay in shape else it will spread a lot. So that is the main point.

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Baking Time : 10 to 11 mins
Chilling Time : 1 hour
Makes: 15 to 18 cookies

Ingredients:

All Purpose Flour / Maida – 1 1/2 cup + 1 tblspn / 200 grams
Cocoa – 1/4 cup / 20 grams
Baking Soda / Cooking Soda – 1 tsp
Salt – 1/4 tsp
Unsalted Soft Butter – 1/2 cup / 115 grams
Brown Sugar – 3/4 cup / 150 grams
Regular White Sugar – 1/4 cup / 50 grams
Egg – 1
Milk – 1 tblspn
Vanilla Essence – 2 tsp
Red Food Colour as needed
Chocolate Chips – 1 cup + extra ( 180 grams)


( My 1 cup measures 240 ml)


Method:

Take butter, brown sugar, sugar and vanilla in a bowl and whisk well. Now add in egg and beat till creamy.

Mix milk and red food colour in a bowl and set aside.

Now add in cocoa, salt. baking soda and mix well.

Add in the mixed red food colour and mix well. Add in chocolate chips and mix well.

Add in the flour and mix well.

Now cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour.

Now line a baking pan with parchment paper and preheat oven to 180 degree C / 350 degree F.

Now take a tblspn of the mixture and roll it into ball. Arrange it in the baking pan leave spaces between them.

Now pop it in oven and bake for 10 to 11 mins. 

Once the cookies is baked, remove it from oven and flatten it slightly. Now top with few chocolate chips if needed while the cookies is still hot.

Now cool it down for 10 mins.

Remove it from pan and cool it completely on a cooling rack.

Serve,

chill the dough for 1 hour
now it is cold
take a small portion of dough
roll it out
arrange it in a baking pan which is lined with parchment leaving spaces 
bake them
use a spoon to flatten it slightly
like this
take some chocolate chips
press them on top
now cool it on a wire rack
Serve

    Hi I tried these Yest n the taste is really Good… But inspite of adding a lottt of colour the red colour did not show. My cookies were beetroot colour, blackish reddish. Pl advise how I can get the red colour as Ur pictures… thanks
