    Custard with Jelly

    This desert is our childhood favourite. It is what Amma makes often. Since it is made using readymade custard powder and jelly packet she can make this in minutes. I decided to share it because i thought many will love it.

    About Jelly Custard

    Jelly custard is a simple yet fun dessert to make when you have friends over or a huge gatherings. You only need 2 instant packets of jello and custard powder to make this amazing looking dessert. You can customize this as per your liking.

    The combination of instant jello with custard taste amazing when served cold.

    Ingredients for Jelly Custard

    • Milk 
    • Custard Powder
    • Sugar
    • Vanilla Essence 
    • Instant Jelly Packet 

    How to Make Custard with Jelly (3 Easy Steps)

    Making Instant Jelly - Make jelly as per packet direction and chill in fridge till ready.

    Make Vanilla Custard - Now take custard powder in a bowl, add little milk and mix well. Set aside. Take sugar and milk in a saucepan and heat till it gets hot. Add the custard mix and cook on a low heat till it is thickened. Now pour it in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap make sure the wrap touches the custard. Chill in fridge for 1 to 2 hours.

    Assembling - When assembling, take jelly and custard from fridge and give everything a good mix. In a serving glass, take some custard and top with jelly. Chill in fridge till serving. Serve cold.

      How to Make Jelly Custard (Stepwise Pictures)

      take your jelly packet
      take it in a bowl
      add in hot water
      mix well
      done
      pour it into a dish and chill
      crumble it lightly when set
      take ingredients for custard
      take custard powder in a bowl
      add little milk
      mix well
      take sugar in a saucepan
      add milk
      heat till the mix gets hot
      add custard mix
      cook on low heat
      keep mixing
      cook till it gets thick
      add vanilla
      pour it in a bowl
      cover with plastic wrap, make sure the wrap touches the custard so the skin doesn't form
      now it is set
      mix well till smooth
      take serving glass
      fill halfway with custard
      top with jelly
      Serve cold

      Expert Tips

      • You can use any flavoured jello or custard powder in this recipe.
      • The sweetness of custard can be adjusted as per your taste.
      • The dessert can be made 2 days in advance and stored in fridge.
      • Chopped fruits can be added in custard for more taste.
      • You can garnish this with whipped cream or chopped nuts.

      For Custard

      • 2 cups Milk
      • 2 tablespoon Custard Powder I used vanilla flavour
      • ½ cup Sugar
      • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

      For Jello

      • 1 packet Instant Jelly Packet I used raspberry flavour

      Instructions
       

      • Make jelly as per packet direction and chill in fridge till ready.
      • Now take custard powder in a bowl, add little milk and mix well. Set aside. Take sugar and milk in a saucepan and heat till it gets hot. Add the custard mix and cook on a low heat till it is thickened. Now pour it in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap make sure the wrap touches the custard. Chill in fridge for 1 to 2 hours.
