I have never ever tried phirni before. Even though it is such a easy peasy recipe to make, somehow i have never tried it. I have tried rice kheer before, this one is similar to that with slight variations.

Badam Kheer

Banana Payasam

Pineapple Sago Kheer

I made this rose flavoured one, and it turned out in very pretty colour and flavour. Enjoyed it so much.

Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you.

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 30 mins
Serves: 4

Ingredients:

Basmati Rice – 2 tblspn
Milk – 1/2 liter + more as needed
Sugar – 1/2 cup
Rose Essence or Rose Syrup – as needed
Pistachios – 3 tblspn chopped
Almonds – 2 tblspn chopped
Cashews — 2 tblspn chopped

(I used rosemilk essence, so added just few drops.
If you are using rose syrup, add 2 to 3 tblspn )

Method:

Take rice in a blender and powder it coarsely. Set aside.

Take milk in a pan, bring it to a boil. Add rice and mix well.

Cook this on low heat till the rice is done. Once the rice is cooked, add in sugar and rose essence and mix well.

Now add in chopped nuts and mix well.

Pour it into individual bowls and chill. Serve cold.

Yes i think you have missed the final step. Phirni is always served chill. Aarthi you must freeze the phirni before serving it.
