    About Sweet Corn Rice Recipe

Sweet corn, also known as sugar corn and pole corn, is a type of maize that is grown for human consumption and has a high sugar content. Sweet corn is the result of a naturally occurring recessive mutation in the genes that control the conversion of sugar to starch within the corn kernels endosperm. corn is harvested while
still immature (milk stage) and cooked and eaten as a vegetable, as opposed to field corn, which is harvested when the kernels are dry and mature (dent stage).

Because the maturation process involves the conversion of sugar to starch, sweet corn stores poorly and must be consumed fresh, canned, or frozen before the kernels become tough and starchy.
