    Sweet Kara Sev Recipe with step by step pictures. This recipe is mainly prepared using gram flour and rice flour. It is coated with thick sugar and tastes so good.

    My diwali posts comes to a end by today. These are my final diwali post for this year. I really feel proud, because i have totally made 26 new post for this diwali, which is really a great achievement for me. Make sure you check all those posts.

    Ingredients for Sweet Kara Sev

    • Besan / Gram Flour / Kadalai Mavu - 1 cup
    • Rice Flour / Arisi Mavu - ½ cup
    • Salt a pinch
    • Ghee / Vanaspati / Butter - 1.5
    • Water as needed
    • Sugar - ¾ cup
    • Water - ¼ cup
    • Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp
    • Oil for Deep Frying
     

    This is a sweet version of the spicy kara sev and it is very popular in my place. It is coated in a thick sugar and taste really good. Hubby loves it so much..It is so easy to make as well.

    How to Make Sweet Kara Sev

    1. Take gram flour, rice flour, salt and vanaspati in a bowl. Crumble it well. Now add water and make it into a sticky dough.
    2. Put a kara sev mold in the murukku press. Pour the dough in a murukku press and press it straight into the oil. Fry till the shh sound subsides in oil. Drain and set aside.
    3. Now in another pan, take sugar, water and mix well. heat and cook till it is thick. Now add in sev and keep tossing, it will get thick and start to crystallize.
    4. Now make sure the sev is well coated in the sugar. Set aside to cool.
    5. Once it is cooled, store in a air tight container for over 10 to 15 days.

    Sweet Kara Sev Step by Step

    Take all your ingredients
    You need this big sev mould
    take gram flour in a bowl
    add in rice flour
    add a pinch of salt
    some butter or ghee or vanaspati
    crumble it well
    add water
    make it into a sticky dough
    put the dough into the mould
     
    press it to form kara sev
    fry them
    while you are frying, break them lightly using the spoon
    fry till the shh sound subsides
    drain it
    now makes the sugar syrup..take sugar in a pan
    add a splash of water
    mix well
    cook till it gets thick..
    add in cardamom powder..
    once it is thick, 
    add in sev and mix well
    keep tossing
    the sugar will thicken and start to crystallize
    now it is done
    set aside to cool down..
    store in a air tight container

      1. Cup means how many grams (u r using)
      2. 1 tbsp how much grams
      3. 1 tsp how much grams
