Imagine a sweet, thick tomato flavoured sauce coating each strands of noodles. It just clings to the pasta so much better that regular sauce making it so delicious.

You start by sauteing garlic in olive oil along with herbs and chilli flakes. This adds flavour to the oil. Add in ketchup, salt and sugar. Cook this with garlic until the sauce starts to caramelize.

Now comes the unique part, mix cornstarch with milk to make a slurry which we add in to the sauce to thicken it. This not only thickens the sauce but actually turn it into a creamy mix.

I used spaghetti, you can use any noodles of choice.

    Cornstarch milk mix

1)Start by cooking pasta in lots of salted boiling water until al dente. Take cornstarch in a bowl.

2)Add milk and mix until it is lump free. This is what we will use to thicken the sauce. Set this aside till needed.

    Make Sauce

3)Heat olive oil in a sauce pan. Add in finely chopped garlic and saute until fragrant.

4)Once garlic is cooked, add in herbs and chilli flakes. Let them release the flavours in the oil.

5)Now add in tomato ketchup. This is what make the base of the sauce.

6)Add a good amount of tomato ketchup.

7)Stir fry the tomato ketchup for 2 to 3 minutes in the oil until it begins to caramelize.

8)Add in salt and sugar to taste. In this recipe, sugar helps cut down the acidity from the ketchup, so use a little bit. If you don't prefer the sweet note you can skip sugar.

9)Add in little bit of the pasta cooking starchy liquid.

10)Mix really well to form the sauce.

13)This is your tomato ketchup pasta sauce.
