    Veppam Poo Rasam Recipe / Neem Flower Rasam Recipe

    Neem Flower / Veppam Poo is one of the medicinal ingredient. It helps in digestion and cleans stomach. Try to include it in your diet atleast once a week.

    Preparation Time : 5 mins
    Cooking Time : 10 mins
    Serves : 4

    Ingredients:

    Dry Neem Flower / Veppam Poo- 1 tblspsn
    Tamarind a small gooseberry size
    Salt to taste
    Sugar - ½ tsp
    Water - 2 cup


    For Seasoning:
    Ghee - 1 tsp
    Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - ½ tsp
    Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - ½ tsp
    Toor Dal / Tuvaram Paruppu - ½ tsp
    Urad Dal / Ulundu Paruppu - ½ tsp
    Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi - a pinch
    Dry Red Chilli - 3 broken
    Curry leaves a handful


    Method:

    Soak tamarind in water for 10 mins. Squeeze and strain the water. Set aside.

    Dry roast neem flower in a pan for 2 to 3 mins. Set aside.

    Heat ghee in a pan, add in all the seasoning ingredients. Fry for a min.

    Pour in tamarind water, salt, sugar and bring it to a boil.

    Once it boils, add in neem flower and turn off the heat.

    Serve with rice.

    Now it has turned golden

    bring it to a boil

    now add in neem flower and turn off the heat
