Today I am posting 2 recipes,YES that is because as soon as I started to post for Blogging marathon “Quick Breakfast Theme”,So many recipes that I planned to post was in pending,so I am gonna post many of the recipe this weekend...So don’t forget to check often...
Coming back to todays recipe...This dish is a one pot wonder dish...You don’t need any strict recipe for this,You could add vegetables like carrots,paneer or anything,but the main hero in this dish is aloo and peas.so add those both generously...I simplified this recipe,but still it taste good...I served this dish with spicy egg masala(if you want recipe check this link)...
Peas-2 cups (soaked for 5 hours)
Ginger garlic paste-1 tblspn
Rice-2 cup(soaked for 30 min)
Red chilli powder-1 tblspn
Coriander powder(malli podi)-1 tblspn
Turmeric powder(manja podi)-1 tsp
Cumin powder(jeeraka podi)-1 tsp
Garam masala powder-1 tsp
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves for garnishing
Whole garam masala:
Cinnamon(pattai)-1 inch piece
Bay leaves(briyani ilai)-1
Cumin seeds(jeerakam)-1 tsp
In a pressure cooker add oil+ghee and heat it up.Crackle whole garam masala for 30 sec.
Add in onions and fry till golden.Now add in ginger garlic paste and mix well.
Add in all the spices and stir for 30 sec.Throw in the tomatoes and mix well,cook untill the tomatoes turn mushy.
Add in the peas,potatoes,salt and mix well.
Add in the soaked rice and stir well.pour in water(for 1 cup rice 2 cups of water) and bring that to a boil.
After it boils simmer the flame and cook for 15-20 min.After 20 min,open the pressure cooker and garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve hot with any side dish.
This dish goes excellent with Pepper Mushroom, Brinjal Masala, Gobi Manchurian,Spicy Egg Masala ,Paneer Curry, Butter Paneer Masala
