This is another basic chutney to have along side for chat items..This chutney taste fantastic as a spread for sandwich or as a dip for chips. It has a sweet and sour taste, hence it is perfect to drizzle on top of samosas, bhel puri and many more.
I have lots of mouth watering chat items to share with you all guys..So keep on checking my site for more recipes..You can check out the green chutney recipe which is also a must for making chat items right here.
So here you go to the recipe and let me know what you think..
Ingrediants:
Dates – 1 cup / 10-12 dates deseeded
Tamarind Pulp – 4 tblspn or use a lemon size of fresh tamarind
Jaggery – ½ cup grated
Chilli Powder- 1 tsp
Cumin Powder / Jeera Powder -1 tsp
Salt to taste
Water as needed
Method:
Take everything in a sauce pan and bring it to a boil.
Simmer this for about 15-20 mins untill the dates are cooked.
Allow it to cool down and grind it in a blender to a smooth paste.
Pass this mixture through a sieve and press it with a fork to get as much pulp as possible.
Store this in a air tight container in the freezer for more than a month.
