Fruit & Nut Chocolate / Chocolate with Dried Fruit and Nuts – Valentine Special Recipes / Gift Ideas

I must have posted this yesterday, since this is a real treat for valentines day..I made this to give it for my sweet heart, but unluckily it got over that say itself..Thanks for my sisters….Hmm... I should make it some other day for him..

This chocolate is so rich, Since it has all nuts available on earth..You can add apricots, dates, walnuts and anything which floats your boat..you can use milk chocolate or any chocolate you like..I used a double boiler for this, but you could melt the chocolate in microwave too..I hope you will try this soon and present it for your loved ones..

Try it and let me know..

Ingrediants:

Dark Chocolate – 350 gms
Cashews – 50 gms / ½ cup
Badam / Almonds – 50 gms / ½ cup
Sultanans / Kishmish – 50 gms / ½ cup
Tutti Frutti – ½ cup ( I used Orange & Green )
Mould of your choice
Butter – 1 tsp for greasing the moulds

Method:

First take whatever moulds you like and grease it with butter.Set this aside for a moment.

Melt the chocolate either in double boiler method or in a microwave. Remove it and set aside.

Chop up all your nuts and dried fruits. Add it to the chocolate and mix well.

Take a spoonful of this and fill your prepared mould and put it in the deep freeze for 1 hour.

Unmould it and keep it in the fridge untill serving.

Enjoy as it is or pack it and give as gifts.

Pictorial:

Take all your nuts, dried fruits and chocolate
Take your mould...I used the seasonal heart shape..
Now time to melt the chocolate...I used a double boiler, you could use microwave if you like

place a pot on the top..I used my kadai

add chocolate chips in this

and allow it to melt down

remove it and let it cool down
Now take your nuts..

and chop them up

add it to the chocolate

and mix well

now take a spoonful
and fill the moulds

all done..

I had some leftover, so i filled the tart tins which i had..now chill this

DONE

Unmould it and Enjoy

This makes a perfect gift for your loved ones.......

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY...

The chocolate looks too thick, dear..it should be of pouring consistency never reaching above 45 degree celcius while cooking.

HII ARTI, GREAT JOB!!!
WAT SUBSTITUTE WOULD U RECOMMEND FOR TUTI FUITY?
AND HOW LONG DOES IT HAVE TO COOK WITH ALL THE CHOCOLATE AND BADAMS ETC MIXED UP?

Aarthi said...

@shravanthiyou can use any glaced fruits in stead of tutti fruity or simply leave that off. You don't need to cook it after you have added the nut mixture. Melt the chocolate take it off the heat and add in the nuts and mix well.

Very nice and easy to make, If you do not have time to make this thing then you can also order dried fruit gifts from internet.

Aarthi said...

@SonaU can toast the nuts in a preheated oven at 180 degree C for 10 mins till it is toasted, then cool it down and add to the chocolate. You can toast them in a oil less pan on a low heat as well
