Buttermilk Roast Chicken Drumsticks

I am so excited to share you a good news. I have started my own official Yummy Tummy Bakers and Catering Services. Check out my facebook page here. But this is going to be a little serious, i have created a separate page for it. You can place orders through this page with all the cakes & cookies which i supply with the price & details, but sadly i can supply only for the folks who live in my place (nagercoil) . But soon will take it to the next level. So please like my page & place your orders.

Now coming back to the recipe. I have already told you my love for fried chicken, but at the sametime I always love baked chickens too. This one was on my list for so many months, ever since I saw this on nigella lawsons show. I wanted to try it so badly, but somehow keeps forgetting. Yesterday when I was going through my todo list I found this recipe. So immediately I got into actions. Actually I changed the ingredients a bit and made it to my taste.

I went to my near by supermarket and bought the stuff which I needed, actually there is not much for me to purchase. Because the stuffs needed for this recipe is so simple and was always a standby in my pantry and freezer. I marinated the chicken yesterday night and just throwed this in the oven today morning. I brought it to my friends and they all loved it a lot.

I hope you will love it and tell me if you try it someday.

Adapted from: Nigella Lawson
Makes : 10 Chicken Legs
Serves - 4-5

Chicken Drumstick - 10
Buttermilk  - 2 cup ( You can mix curd with some water)
Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 tblspn
Oil -  4 tblspn
Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
Freshly Ground Pepper - 1 tsp
Cumin Powder - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Sugar - 1 tsp

Take a large ziploc bag, place the chicken drumstick in.

Pour buttermilk, chilli powder, cumin powder, salt, sugar, ginger garlic paste, pepper, oil into the bag.

Shake the bag to mix well. Now place this in fridge to marinate overnight or 3-4 hours.

Preheat the oven to 200 Degree C / 400 Degree F.

Next day. Foil line a baking tray and spray some oil over it.

Arrange the chicken pieces on the tray leaving space between them.

Bake it in the oven for 30 mins. Remove the tray from the oven and flip them over. Now cook it for 15 more mins or it is nicely browned and cooked all the way through.

Remove them from oven and allow it to cool down for 5 mins.

Serve warm or hot with any dish.

Take all your ingredients
Place chicken drumsticks in a large ziploc bag
pour some buttermilk into it
add some salt
crushed ginger garlic paste
chilli and cumin powder
some freshly ground pepper
throw everything into the bag itself
drizzle some oil
and mix well
now place them in a plate and put them in fridge
Foil line a baking tray and spray it lightly with oil
place the marinated chicken over the tray
and bake them for 30 mins..Now flip them over and bake again
till done
How good is that

Simply Awesome. Me too prefer to dip the drumsticks in buttermilk a few hours before marinating. Soft inside, crispy outside. Love it!
Awesome clicks and presentation.

Can v fry it ? Instead of baking !
I don't have the convention it's just the oven !

Aarthi said... Best Blogger Tips

@AnonymousNo you cannot, because there is no binding ingredient in this
